Do you have...
...what it takes to survive?
Wow! DETOUR will force you to not only take stock in your life, but to take stock in what you've got readily available in your car. Because what may seem like a bizarre circumstance could in fact happen to anyone driving in a mountain region. I swear my shoulders are still a little too close to my ears after viewing this film! I had to keep reminding myself "you're not in the car with Jackson."
Speaking of Jackson, leading man Neil Hopkins provides a tour de force performance as he battles the force that is mother nature.
And don't be surprised, if like me, you jump back into your Amazon account & order a few "supplies" for your car.
A DEFINITE RECOMMEND (DETOUR & the supplies!)
Very good acting... but kind of boring and predictable.
The lead actor (or only actor, really) who I never heard of did a fantastic job and persuaded me to stick it out to the end.
The problem for me is that the entire movie takes place inside of a jeep grand cherokee and I really needed some more in the way of sets and scenery.
I don't think it was a bad ending and I don't feel like it left the viewer hanging but throughout the whole movie you will be yelling at the guy telling him to do what he ultimately does after an hour and 25 minutes.
All in all, it didn't have enough blood, violence, horror or suspense for me.
Detour review
It was ok, but didn't care for the ending. Interesting story of survivial. It is watchable, could have had more of an ending, left the viewer hanging.
